Double Waw

Quite simply, if a specialist in phonology, phonetics, and morphology were to take even a brief look at the foundations of the language’s orthography from a phonetic perspective, drawing on powerful phonological rules such as raising, strengthening, lowering, and weakening, as well as morphological rules such as shortening and elision, and were to grasp the underlying force of the phoneme, or distinctive sound, that specialist could examine the following sentences, in which both graphemes /و/ and /وو/ are used, and determine which option in the domain of orthography is founded on simplicity, elegance, convention, and systematic agreement:

A: (ڕووبەڕووبوونەوەی ڕووبەڕووبوونەوەکـانی ڕووداوەکـانی ڕوودراوی چەنـد ڕۆژ لەمەوپــــێــــش لە دووراودوری ڕووداوەکــــانــــی ڕووبەڕووبــــوونەوەکەی
ڕووداوەکەی ئــاورگرتنەوەکە، ســــــووربوونەوەی خــانوو و مــازوو و تەزوووە ئـــاورگـرتـوویەکـــان کە تەیـــدا زیـنـــدوو و مـردوو ســـــــووتـــابـوون و تـیـمـی ڕووبەڕووبــوونەوەی ڕووبەڕووبــوونەوەکـــانــی ڕووداوەنەخــوازراوەکـــانی لە ڕووبەڕووبـــــوونەوەی ڕووبەڕووبـــــوونەوەکـــــانـــــی ڕووبەڕووی ڕووداوەکە، ڕووبەڕووبوونەوە...)

At this point, one sees that in the ordinary, simple example above, forty-three instances of /و/ have been used unnecessarily. In none of these instances do they perform a phonemic or distinctive function; their written use therefore produces only visual strain and confusion.
